.Information on rare breeds, or just detailed information on a common breed, can be really hard to come by. Most books are either written in far too general terms, or are wide surveys of an entire breed, rather than detailing one dog. Information on showing dogs, and the standards required , is often buried within the guidelines for competitions, in incomprehensible terms. It makes it really hard for the new owner to show their dog. Some groups of dog owners and showers produce books which describe showing standards, and one of the best of these was the New Zealand Kennel Club. They produced a vast number of gazettes on different breeds from the Afghan to the Vizsla - and everything in between. The only place to get them on the net seems to be www.pacificcollection.com , who also have a few other canine related items. These are great little booklets and essential for any new owner who is considering showing or agility work for the newest member of their family! | ||||
